Jim Hood comes to Realty Executives Weis Team with a passion for people, community and service to others. Recently retired after 24 years in the US Army, Jim’s dedication, loyalty and positive approach brings a well-rounded blend of professionalism to all his clients.

Jim joined the Army after college and followed his father as an Infantryman but soon found the Army’s flight program a dream come true. For over twenty years Jim explored the skies over Europe, the Middle East, and British Isles with US tours at West Point, New York; Ft Sill, Oklahoma; Ft Rucker, Alabama; Ft Benning, Georgia, finally parking in Manhattan, Kansas as a member of the 1ID CAB. Retiring as a CW5 and serving as the first Chief Warrant Officer of the Brigade (CWOB) during 2009/2010, Jim participated in Desert Storm, and has two 15 month tours in Iraq – one with 4th BDE/HHC 1st Armored Division and finally one during the “surge” with CAB 1st Infantry Division.

During the transition to civilian life, Jim found that the Flint Hill’s Community was an inviting community that’s future was nothing but positive as recently shown in Forbes magazine featuring Manhattan #1 among cities in the US its size. Jim brings experience in operations planning, human resources and maintenance management.

Jim is active in the Ft Riley Military Retiree Council, the Chamber of Commerce, the Army Aviation Association (Quad A), and the Military Officers Association (MOAA). He is affiliated with the American Legion, VFW, and Friends of the Konza Prairie. His passion for animals and children keep him associated with Riley County Humane Society and the Kansas Foster Children programs. Jim retains his roots with his college fraternity and is also an Alumni Board of Trustee member for Delta Chi at both Kansas State University and Oklahoma University.

Jim and his wife Leslie Alford are excited about serving the community as Realtors.  After a combined near-half-century of military duty – and a multitude of military moves! – They understand how important it is for a family or individual to find just the right home and property.  Equally important, they understand the value of a trustworthy and competent Realtor® in making the desire for that perfect home a reality, and they bring the skills and dedication to help clients get exactly that!
