Leslie Alford brings a rich background of leadership and management experience and strong community involvement to the Realty Executives Weis Team, making her uniquely qualified to provide comprehensive real estate service, expertly tailored to individual clients’ needs and desires.

Leslie holds undergraduate degrees in Computer Information Systems and Business Management and a graduate degree in International Relations.  She is a retired Army Lieutenant Colonel, whose most recent assignment was Command Inspector General (IG) for the 1st Infantry Division, culminating in one final combat tour in Iraq in 2010.   An IG for seven years, Leslie inspected, assessed and investigated all manner of issues, operations and allegations across the United States, Europe, and combat theaters.  Leslie was also a career Army logistician, specializing in munitions and explosives.

In civilian life, Leslie’s experience includes management, administration, acquisition and instruction in university settings; international defense consulting and marketing; insurance marketing and sales; industrial production planning, control and management; and entrepreneurial stints as a technical writer, computer systems consultant and a photographer.

Leslie is currently active in many military and community organizations, including the Fort Riley Retiree Council, Military Officers Association of America (MOAA), Fort Riley Officer and Civilian Spouses Club (OCSC), Sunflower CASA (Court-appointed Special Advocate), local Chambers of Commerce and Friends of Konza Prairie, among others.

A lifelong photography and outdoor enthusiast, Leslie is happy to indulge those passions in the beautiful Flint Hills.  She and her husband, Jim Hood, have a son who is a student at KSU. Their family also includes three Bernese Mountain dog “kids”.

Leslie and Jim are excited about serving the community as Realtors.  After a combined near-half-century of military duty – and a multitude of military moves! – They are happy to call Manhattan “home”, and they understand how important it is for a family or individual to find just the right home and property.  Equally important, they understand the value of a trustworthy and competent realtor in making the desire for that perfect home a reality, and they bring the skills and dedication to help clients do just that.
